The LNP will provide a Fresh Start for Lockyer, if elected this month.

LNP MP for Lockyer Jim McDonald said a Crisafulli government has committed to practical improvements for the Lockyer Valley, with targeted investments to make our region safer and benefit families and the local community.

Here’s what will be delivered under an LNP Government:

  1. $20 million Brisbane Valley Highway Upgrades
The LNP has committed $20 million to upgrades for the Brisbane Valley Highway, improving safety and access for the Lockyer community. The funding will cover both safety upgrades and road pavement treatments on this major horoughfare from Esk to Blacksoil.
  2. $400,000 Summerholm Road Intersection with the Warrego Highway Upgrade
We know road safety is a priority, and the Warrego Highway is our major travel route. That’s why we’ve committed $400,000 towards upgrades for the Summerholm Road intersection with the Warrego Highway.
  3. $1 million for Lockyer Community Playgrounds
Outdoor play is essential for happy and healthy communities. We will deliver $1 million for community playground facilities in Laidley and Fernvale.
  4. $660,000 to Support Community Centres
The LNP is committed to funding the Laidley and Lockyer Community Centres to ensure vital community services can be maintained. These centres provide critical social infrastructure, foster community connection and cohesion, and offer essential services and support for the most vulnerable. This funding will deliver an annual boost of 110,000 to both the Lockyer (Gatton) and Laidley Community Centres over the next three years.
  5. $150,000 for Lockyer Valley Turf Club Redevelopment Planning
We’ve committed $150,000 towards planning for the redevelopment of the Lockyer Valley Turf Club.

Jim McDonald said Queenslanders could vote for the investments in Lockyer and a Fresh Start for Queensland, by voting LNP on October 26.

“Only by voting 1 LNP will Queenslanders get a Fresh Start and major infrastructure and community improvements,” Mr McDonald said.

“Labor are desperate to hold onto power, but unless we change the government, we’ll continue to get more of the same under Labor.

“This is the opportunity for a Fresh Start with the LNP’s Right Plan for Queensland’s Future.”
